Tour overview

Varanasi (Banaras) is one of the world's oldest continuously inhabited cities and Hinduism's most sacred pilgrimage destination, situated on the banks of the holy Ganges River. This ancient city, believed to be Lord Shiva's eternal abode, has been a center of learning, philosophy, and spiritual practice for over 3,000 years.

The heart of Varanasi comprises more than 80 ghats (stone steps) descending to the river where pilgrims perform ritual bathing and cremation ceremonies. The mesmerizing Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat, with its synchronized rituals, oil lamps, and chanting, creates a transcendent atmosphere each evening.
