Tour overview
Amritsar, the spiritual capital of Sikhism, is home to the magnificent Golden Temple (Harmandir Sahib), a stunning structure of marble and gold that seems to float on a sacred pool of nectar. This holy city in Punjab represents the heart of Sikh faith, history, and tradition, drawing pilgrims from across the globe.
The Golden Temple complex exemplifies Sikh principles of equality and service through its four entrances welcoming all faiths, its langar (community kitchen) serving free meals to up to 100,000 visitors daily, and the devotional kirtan (hymns) that echo continuously within its walls. The sacred Guru Granth Sahib, the eternal Sikh guru, resides within the temple, with ceremonies marking its daily installation and retirement.
