Day 1: Arrival in Ahmedabad
Arrive in Ahmedabad, India's first UNESCO World Heritage City. Explore the historic old city with its intricately carved wooden havelis and pols (traditional neighborhoods). Visit Sidi Saiyyed Mosque with its famous tree-of-life lattice windows. Afternoon tour of Sabarmati Ashram, Gandhi's headquarters during India's independence struggle. Evening walk through Law Garden night market for textiles and crafts. Dinner experience at a traditional Gujarati thali restaurant featuring multiple vegetarian dishes.
Day 2: Ahmedabad to Patan and Modhera
Drive to Patan (130 km) to visit Rani ki Vav, an 11th-century stepwell and UNESCO site with extraordinary sculptural panels. Continue to a Patola silk weaving center to witness the rare double-ikat technique producing one of India's most expensive textiles. Afternoon visit to Sun Temple at Modhera with its magnificent carved stone architecture and geometric-designed kund (tank). Drive to Dasada near Little Rann of Kutch for overnight stay in resort.
Day 3: Little Rann of Kutch and to Bhuj
Early morning jeep safari in Little Rann of Kutch looking for wild ass, desert foxes, and migratory birds in this unique salt desert ecosystem. Visit a nearby village of Agaria salt workers to understand their traditional salt harvesting methods. Drive to Bhuj (4 hours), the gateway to Kutch crafts.
Day 4: Bhuj and Craft Villages
Full day exploring Kutch craft villages. Visit Bhujodi to see traditional weaving and block printing. Continue to Ajrakhpur, famous for ajrakh block printing using natural dyes with complex geometric patterns. Afternoon in Khavda for pottery and Sumrasar for tie-dye bandhani work. Meet master artisans and learn about their techniques passed through generations. Return to Bhuj for evening visit to Aina Mahal (Hall of Mirrors) with its unique European-Kutchi fusion art.
Day 5: White Rann Excursion and Departure
Early morning drive to White Rann, the spectacular salt desert offering surreal white landscape stretching to the horizon. Photography stop at Kala Dungar (Black Hill), the highest point in Kutch with panoramic views. Return to Bhuj for lunch and departure.
